Frequently Asked Questions

    General Timeshare Questions
  • What type of company is Pro Timeshare Resales?
  • Pro timeshare Resales is a licensed, bonded "by owner" advertising and marketing company specializing in every aspect of timeshare resales and rentals. By pooling our clients advertising dollars, we are able to provide more exposure than an individual owner could on their own. PTR is dedicated to providing individual timeshare owners with the massive, national international and localized advertising necessary to compete directly with resorts for retail timeshare vacationers. PTR uses a wide variety of cutting edge marketing tools, from our extensive internet advertising to our industry leading magazine, "The Timeshare Dealer". Pro Timeshare resales is not a real estate broker and will never charge a commission or broker fee.
  • What types of advertising does Pro Timeshare Resales provide?
  • Pro Timeshare Resales is committed to providing the most extensive marketing and advertising program in the industry.
Pro Timeshare Resales marketing program includes:
    * One of the largest timeshare websites on the internet
    * Pay-Per-Click advertising on all major search engines
    * And our own internationally distributed Magazine, ''The Timeshare Dealer''
    ....and much more!
  • Will my resort help me sell my Timeshare?
  • Most Resorts do not have a resale program because they would rather sell a "new" ownership at retail pricing than help you sell yours. When a resort has unsold or foreclosed units, it is not receiving any maintenance fees for that unit. It simply is not in the resorts best interest to offer a resale service. Pro Timeshare Resales is an industry leading resale / rental company committed to providing the marketing and advertising required to compete directly with the resorts for the retail buyer. • Why can't I pay commission at the end like real estate?
  • A realtor, who works by commission at the end of the sale, isn’t set up for the kind advertising and marketing necessary to locate a buyer for a timeshare. A sign in the front yard, which you can’t do, and an ad in the local paper is not enough. What you need is massive national, international, and local advertising 24 hours a day, week after week until a buyer is found. The only way to get that kind of advertising is a “by owner” company. A “by owner” company has an existing marketing program that we can plug you into and then spread that advertising cost over a large number of clients to make it affordable for each one. And a by owner company works by an upfront fee, and can’t take a commission at the end of the sale.
  • Are there any " hidden costs " associated with selling /closing ?
  • No. It is standard in the industry for the buyer to pay the closing costs, just like you did when you bought it. It is NEVER necessary to "appraise" a timeshare ownership and it is not required by the title company in order to close. Pro Timeshare Resale will never charge a commission or broker fee at the time of closing.
